Pond Dipping / Introduction to Fishing

June 16 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

10am till 3pm (lunch 1 hour)

We will be offering you the chance to try and catch a fish supported by a licensed coach.

All tackle and bait will be provided as well as a seat to fish from.

We will have some pond dipping equipment out with identification charts, hopefully with support from the Environment Agency, who will also be bringing their large fish tank on wheels which we hope to put the fish we catch in so one can see how they swim. Pond dipping for underwater bugs and crustaceans / aquatic critters, see what fish eat and how some of the bugs / larval insects are fearsome predators,  how do they propel themselves along, how do they breathe under water. Can you identify what you have caught?

What fish have you caught today, are you catching a fish for the first time?.

The fishing and pond dipping activities are suitable for children age 5 and above as well as adults.

We will have 4/5 seats for fishing and we will hopefully change over when a fish has been caught. Looking at roughly 30 minute sessions per person, similar for the pond dipping also.

A consent form will need to be completed for each person who wishes to try fishing.
