SUMMARY:Gamlingay Eco Hub + Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided visit around Gamlingay village and hear about local perspectives on nature\, carbon reduction\, and community energy at the Eco Hub. \nTickets are free but please fill out this form \nPlease email cathy.lin@scambs.gov.uk if you have any questions or issues with booking. \nMeet at the Gamlingay Eco Hub (Gamlingay Community Centre) \n1pm – 2pm – Optional guided tour around the village\nThe day will start with an optional 1 hour walking tour from the Eco Hub through Mill Bridge Meadow\, where you will have a clear view of the Gamlingay Community Turbine which has been providing clean energy for the village since 2013! We will then continue through the Lowerfield\, St Mary’s Field Cemetery\, and the Gamlingay Foodbank and Fridge and back to the Eco Hub. The walk will be guided by community volunteers and will be entirely outdoors\, so please dress for the weather. \n2pm – 4pm – Talks & Refreshments at the Eco Hub\n2:15 pm\nGamlingay Community Turbine – a locally self-funded community energy scheme\nSpeaker: Chris Smith\, GCT manager \n2:35 pm\nGamlingay Climate Action Group – Biodiversity and project delivery in Gamlingay\nSpeaker: Emma Leaf Grimshaw\, Gamlingay Climate Action Group \n3:00 pm\nCommunity carbon initiatives – a Parish Council perspective\nSpeaker: Kirstin Rayner\, Gamlingay Parish Council Clerk \n3:15 pm\nHow Green is the Eco Hub? Walking and Talking tour of the Eco Hub\nSpeaker: Kate Laugharne\, Community Centre Manager \nCambridgeshire County Council’s Community Energy Team and South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Climate and Environment Team will also be on hand to answer your questions about related programmes.
