DESCRIPTION:Please note the change of time to 5:45pm (from the previously advertised 6pm).  \nExpect powerful films that present the birth of river goddesses\, a deep dive into personal relationships with river systems\, an exploration of healing grief with water\, and more. Recommended for all lovers of water\, rivers\, river beings\, and the health of the element that keeps this whole ecosystem healthy!  \nBook your ticket for this event \nSome of the filmmakers will be in attendance to talk about their process and their responses to the brief\, with a Q&A and introduction facilitated by Rivers of Film curator James Murray-White. You are invited to arrive in advance of the screening to enjoy Pembroke College’s part of the Living Water exhibition. A pay bar will be available for this event.  \nAs part of the exhibition\, Living Water: Poetry\, Art and the Fight for Clean Rivers\, we are screening 10 short films commissioned for the Rivers of Film festival in 2025 across two events. Half of the 10 films are shown at Part One at Cambridge University Library (28 May) and the other half at Part Two at Pembroke College (25 June). DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special screening of No Trees No Seas\, a powerful new feature-length documentary exploring the hidden connection between our forests and oceans. \n  \nFor thousands of years\, the British Isles were home to vast forests that swept across the land\, right to the sea’s edge. Two separate worlds\, divided by the shoreline. \n  \nWhat we couldn’t see were the forests sending life to the sea\, and the sea giving life back to the forests. Not two separate worlds\, but a single living system – trees and seas connected in ways we’re only now beginning to understand. \n  \nWhen we cut down the forests\, we severed that connection. And our seas have been suffering ever since. \n  \nNo Trees No Seas is a Cornwall-born project and campaign spearheaded by Plant One\, with a bold mission: to restore both our forests and our seas.
