SUMMARY:Wild in the Meadows (Trumpington Meadows): Family Pond Dip and Adventure walk
DESCRIPTION:This is part of a series of activities for families throughout the year on Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve. \nIn this session\, join Becca Badger for an adventure on Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve. We’ll walk to the pond (it’s about half a mile from the Ranger’s Office) doing silly challenges along the way\, then spend some time pond dipping before strolling back. You’ll be amazed at what we find in the pond; it’s as exciting for adults as it is for children! \nThis session is perfect for ages 7-11. Older children will also enjoy the activity. It is not suitable for children under 5 for health and safety reasons. You are welcome to bring pre-walking babies in a buggy or sling. \nBooking is essential to manage group size. Please follow the link to the Wildlife Trust BCN website. £5 for Wildlife Trust BCN members\, £7.50 for non-members (limited early-bird tickets are available) \n\n6-14 June 2026 \nThis event is also part of the UK-wide Great Big Green Week. \nDiscover more GBGW events in Cambridge

SUMMARY:Calm Under the Canopy (Wandlebury)
DESCRIPTION:Every month on a Friday afternoon\, a friendly group gathers with our resident Green Coach\, David Lynch\, to slow down\, pause\, and immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of the woodlands of Wandlebury.  We wander gently into the denser vegetation\, tuning into birdsong\, shifting light in the canopy\, and the small\, joyful details that are so easily missed in daily life.  David offers simple practices that invite stillness\, presence\, and a deeper connection with the natural world and with our own experience\, supporting us to unwind and rediscover a sense of ease. \nWith this renewed clarity\, we return to the pop-up café to share stories\, exchange insights\, and form new friendships. If you’d like to manage stress more naturally\, live life with greater appreciation\, and become part of a warm\, nature-connected community at Wandlebury\, we’d love to welcome you. \nDavid is trained and experienced in guiding groups outdoors\, bringing together gentle nature-based practices\, ecotherapy principles\, and slow\, mindful movement.  Each gathering explores a fresh theme and builds on the shared wisdom of previous walks. \nThese events are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous experience. \nEach walk concludes at the pop-up café\, where we pause together\, reflect on the experience\, and continue building a sense of community. \n3 walks for £50 per person or 6 walks for £70 per person (concessions £40/£60). £25 (£20) per session. To book\, email naturallymindfulnow@gmail.com or text 07375 064336. \nPlease pay for your car parking on arrival or why not become a member and get free parking all year! Join Cambridge Past\, Present & Future HERE \n\n6-14 June 2026 \nThis event is also part of the UK-wide Great Big Green Week. \nDiscover more GBGW events in Cambridge

SUMMARY:Sit and Read in Nature (Trumpington Meadows)
DESCRIPTION:This activity is part of a series of outdoor opportunities to enjoy nature on Cambourne Nature Reserve and Trumpington Meadows\, with a focus on sitting and having a quiet read together\, rather than walking. \nJoin Communities and Education Officer Rebecca Neal for a quiet reading session\, and a short walk on this beautiful and accessible nature reserve. \nWe’ll stroll a short distance on flat surfaced paths to find a nice spot in the orchard then set up picnic blankets or camping chairs. We’ll soak up the wildlife vibes\, perhaps identify some wildflowers\, or listen to bird song\, and enjoy reading our own books or magazines with a biscuit together. \nThese sessions are aimed at adults of all ages\, we’d love an inter-generational mix! Parents or carers with pre-walking babies are welcome. Paths are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We are especially keen to offer places on these free activities to local people. \nBooking is essential to manage grouo size.

SUMMARY:Oxford Road Living Streets Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join ‘Jolly Green Gardener’ Dom Claydon-Wallace\, Oxford Residents Association and Living Streets Cambridge for a nature walk along Oxford Road. \nThe Oxford Road residents work hard to make their street better for both walking and wildlife. View hedgehog highways\, swift boxes\, and other Nature-friendly interventions around the neighbourhood. \nSwifts are a beloved but increasingly rare seasonal visitor to the UK\, and Oxford Road has possibly the largest population in Cambridge city\, so find out how they did it and what you can do where you live. \nLiving Streets Cambridge is a local group that promotes better walking environments and encourages more walking. They highlight problems faced by walkers and wheelers\, and help to provide pedestrian-friendly solutions. They campaign for more investment in streets\, crossings and pedestrian infrastructure. They organise free\, regular walks on Wednesdays and Sundays that are about 1.5 hours long\, relaxed and social. \nMeet at Fitzwilliam College Playing Field entrance on Oxford Road. \n\n6-14 June 2026 \nThis event is also part of the UK-wide Great Big Green Week. \nDiscover more GBGW events in Cambridge
